Line Editing

I’ll review your work sentence by sentence to evaluate word choice, sentence structure to help you make your story even more convincing.

How it works

You will receive a 1,000 word sample edit (unfortunately not available for short manuscripts) to decide whether you like my editing style. If you decide to go ahead, I take a non-refundable deposit with final payment upon completion. I do two rounds of editing (edit / revision). Prices range from £0.06-£0.08 depending on the length of the manuscript.

Copy Editing

This type of editing is more focussed on catching mistakes, checking syntax & grammar and correcting spelling. Should your story reference historic or scientific facts, I’ll also check if they are factual.

Proofreading

This is the final review once your book has been formatted and is ready for printing. Proofreading is the final stage of the editing process and does not replace any of the previous stages. I offer proofreading services as packages together with line and/or copy editing or as standalone service.

Reading is my personal passion. No film can conjure up such a wide array of emotions, images, inspiration, catharsis and much more than a well-written book. Plus, it’s a great form of escapism. My favourite genres include fantasy, the fantastic, and science-fiction, but also children’s and young adult literature. A good book can be an incredible influence on a young mind and shape their future attitude to life, which is why this genre is very special to me.
